The Gagarin Cup finals move to Yaroslavl

Preview
Will Lokomotiv win its first game today after two victories for Magnitka in the Urals?

19:00: Lokomotiv vs Metallurg

Series stand
0-2 (1:2, 0:1)

About the game
It has been a surprisingly low-scoring final series so far, with only one goal being scored in the second match, with Metallurg’s Denis Zernov netting the game-winner in the third period – another high-impact game for him. However, the match will probably be remembered also for its very final part. In the dying seconds of the game Lokomotiv’s Georgy Ivanov managed to get the puck in the net as the Railwaymen celebrated the tie. But that wasn’t the end of the drama, with the officials reviewing the play, concerned about a hand pass in the build-up as earlier in the play d-man Martin Gernat was spotted using his hand to send the puck toward Andrei Sergeyev on the boards. The goal was ruled out as Magnitka will move to Yaroslavl with a two-game advantage. Goalie Ilya Nabokov celebrated his fourth shutout in this year’s elimination stage.
Metallurg’s goalie Ilya Nabokov is on a 77:01 shutout streak.
Metallurg’s defenseman Robin Press had an assist in each of his previous two matches.

Injury list
Metallurg: Yegor Yakovlev.
