About the game
Once again, Lokomotiv had a strong start but failed to finish off the Hawks, who rallied back and forced game seven at home – a script similar to game five. After 23 minutes, the Railwaymen were in the semifinals, also getting a boost from Maxim Shalunov’s 350th point in the league, but Igor Martynov and Semyon Chistyakov tied things up and shifted the momentum to Avangard’s side. With a penalty called on Artur Kayumov, Nikolai Prokhorkin deflected a shot from Ryan Spooner to send the series back to Omsk for a decisive game seven. Pavel Khomchenko had 30 saves for the Hawks.

Series stand
2-3 (0:4, 0:1, 5:2, 1:0, 3:5)
About the game
Differently from Lokomotiv, Metallurg managed to survive the opposition’s scare after a strong start and achieved a key win in the fifth game of the series. Danila Yurov had two goals in the first period, with Denis Zernov and Daniil Vovchenko adding tallies for a 4:0 Magnitka lead just past the half-game mark. However, Spartak didn’t surrender and netted two with Mikhail Maltsev and German Rubtsov, but it was too late as Yegor Korobkin sealed the deal for Magnitka in the closing stages. It’s now a match point for Metallurg as the series returns to Moscow.
