Amur and Sibir battle out again!

Preview
Two days ago, Amur blanked Sibir with a sound, 4:0 victory and a shutout by Igor Bobkov as the Tigers are getting closer and closer to the Novosibirsk side in the Eastern Conference standings. Yegor Korshkov had three points, and Amur has currently 50 points, against Sibir’s 51 – however, the Tigers played two games fewer than Sibir. Today it’s time for a rematch – the two sides will meet for the third time this season, with Amur taking both the earlier games. Novosibirsk is currently the best-placed team in the pair, but the momentum is now on the Tigers’ side.

In Vladivostok, another rematch will take place, with Admiral hosting Avangard again, following the Hawks’ 2:1, OT win on Monday. It’s interesting to note that the latest nine game between the two sides have been decided either in OT or SO. It’ll be the fourth time that the two sides will meet this year, with Avangard taking three matches so far. The Hawks are having an excellent season, propelled by their top line of Ryan Spooner, Reid Boucher, and Vladimir Tkachyov. Boucher has currently 34 tallies in 45 game, and he may have a chance to beat Sergei Mozyakin’s regular-season record (48 goals in 2016-2017).

The action then moves to the Western Conference, with Vityaz hosting SKA. The St. Petersburg franchise has collected three wins over the Moscow Region teams this season, but lost its previous couple of matches. It’s however unlikely that Torpedo will steal from them a spot in the West’s top four, although there are still twenty games to go to the end of the regular season and a lot can still happen.
