Preview
On Tuesday, in Magnitogorsk, the leaders will battle out as Metallurg hosts Lokomotiv. The Yaroslavl club rose to the top of the Western Conference (and the entire championship) during the New Year holidays and, as the tournament leader, has already secured a solid victory in the Urals. On Sunday 7, Igor Nikitin’s team defeated Traktor (3:1). At the same time, Magnitka has four wins in its last five games, with Metallurg consistently earning points.

In the 2023-2024 season, the teams met in September, with Lokomotiv emerging stronger in Yaroslavl with a score of 4-1. Maxim Beryozkin netted the game-winner for the Railwaymen in that game, while Pavel Kraskovsky sealed the deal for Loko with a double. For Metallurg, nineteen-years-old Mikhail Grass scored his first career goal in that match. That said, Lokomotiv’s latest win in Magnitogorsk dates back to more than ten years ago.

Still in the Urals, Traktor hosts Neftekhimik. The Wolves are on a good moment, with five straight wins, but Amur’s yesterday win over Sibir has complicated their playoffs chances. In the meantime, Salavat Yulaev welcomes Kunlun Red Star. Another two games are on tap in the Eastern Conference, with Lada entertaining Avtomobilist for a battle to get to the top-four, and Ak Bars facing Barys, with the Kazan squad winning its latest three matches.

In the West, Dinamo Minsk faces Spartak again, with the Muscovites taking two games over the Bisons already this season. Two games are scheduled in Moscow: Dynamo Moscow hosts HC Sochi, with the Black Sea franchise trying to return to victory following thirteen straight losses, while CSKA welcomes Torpedo.
