Best Players of the 2023-2024 twelfth week

The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s twelfth week in four categories. 

The League’s teams played 31 games last week, with 552 players (40 goalies, 187 defensemen, and 325 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 4.97 goals per game. 

- Best goalie for the fourth time in his career was Alexander Samonov (Salavat Yulaev), who won two games from three last week, with one postgame shutout series. The Vladivostok goalie faced 78 shots, or 26 per night, posting a saves percentage of 98.72% and a goals-against average of 0.38. Samonov posted a shutout in Saturday’s Salavat Yulaev 4:0 win over Traktor. 

- Best defenseman for the first time in his career was Alexei Maklyukov (Metallurg), who scored 3 (0+3) points in three games. The Magnitka defenseman posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-5 differential. He had one takeaway and two interceptions. 

- Best forward for the second time in his career was Nikita Mikhailis (Barys), who scored 8 (3+5) points in three games. Mikhailis posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-8 differential. The Metallurg forward netted the game-winner in his game’s win over Traktor, when he posted a 6 (1+5)-point performance, equaling the KHL record for points in a single game. 

- Best rookie for the third time in his career was defenseman Anton Silayev (Torpedo), who scored 1 (1+0) point in three games last week. Silayev posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-4 differential. He also recorded six hits, blocked three shots, and had one takeaway.
