Jeremy Roy

D, Vityaz, 2 G, 5 (2+3) points, +5

The Quebecoise defenseman, at his second KHL season, had a fantastic week this time around, helping Vityaz improving its season record with two straight wins. He had five points, starting with posting his first goals of the season when the Moscow Region franchise defeated Avangard on Wednesday (5:2) – he also had an assist that night. Three days later, Vityaz won again as they faced Lokomotiv. Roy participated in both goals for his team, posting two assists and logging more than 25 minutes of ice time. Vityaz is improving his record, and defenseman Jeremy Roy is a big part of this success. For his efforts, Roy was awarded the Best defenseman honors this week – he also led the league with a plus-5 rating with his linemate Yegor Voronkov. Another Canadian, Taylor Beck, was awarded with Best forward honors.

Czech Republic

Libor Sulak

D, Avangard, 3 G, 3 (0+3) points, even

It wasn’t the best week for the Hawks, yet the Czech d-man managed to get on the scoresheet as he racked up assists. In particular, Sulak was instrumental for his team on Sunday – Avangard had a 4:3, OT win over Metallurg, with the d-man recording two assists in the Hawks’ victory. Sulak also ended the game with a plus-2 differential. Two days before, on Friday, the Czech blueliner had an assist when Avangard lost to Lada in Togliatti. The Hawks are gradually improving their record and positioning in the standings, and Sulak is getting his scoring touch back.

United States

Alexander Chmelevski

F, Salavat Yulaev, 2 G, 4 (2+2) points, +3

The forward had another striking week for Salavat Yulaev, with the team gaining points in both games – they had one win and one OT loss – and Chmelevski writing his name in the scoresheet with his second double of the season when the Ufa side defeated Severstal. It happened on Friday – the forward scored the first two goals for Salavat Yulaev, then assisted Nikita Zorkin’s game-winner with less than 30 seconds left in the closing frame. Following such a strong performance, Chmelevski kept on scoring adding an assist on Sunday, when Salavat Yulaev got away with one point more in the standings after a 2:3, OT loss in Minsk. The Ufa franchise is currently the fifth seed in the East, and Chmelevski’s production will be needed to climb up even further.

Slovakia

Michal Cajkovsky

D, Spartak, 3 G, 4 (2+2) points, +2

Spartak is one of the hottest teams in the league, and Cajkovsky is playing a big role within the squad. The Slovakian large-framed d-man helped the Red-and-Whites scoring points in all the three games for the week – all won by Spartak – including scoring goals in two consecutives matches against HC Sochi. In the first encounter on the Black Sea shores, Cajkovsky posted a goal and a plus-2 rating as Spartak celebrated a 5:2 victory. On Wednesday, Spartak also won the revenge match, with Cajkovsky potting two points with a tally and an assist as the Red-and-Whites defeated Sochi again, 3:1 this time. Cajkovsky then had another assist when Spartak won their first Far-East game with a 4:3 victory over Admiral on Sunday.
