Razin returns in Cherepovets today!

Preview
The KHL matchday will have an early start again today, with Amur and Admiral hosting Western teams, with the Tigers having a go against SKA, and the Sailors welcoming Dynamo Moscow. The Muscovites are on a six-game winning streak, and they will want to stretch it.

In Novosibirsk, Sibir hosts Barys after a crucial win in its first Siberian derby in the team’s new arena – it will be the third clash between the two sides – while in Moscow, Spartak hosts Traktor trying to build on its recent win over Barys. Another team who is having a good season is Lada. The Togliatti team will face Kunlun Red Star – in only one season did the two sides meet, back in 2016-2017, and the Dragons won all the matches. Lada is thus yet to achieve a win over Kunlun at the KHL level.

In the last Eastern game of the matchday, Neftekhimik hosts Avangard. The Omsk team has already achieved a victory over the Wolves, and tonight several players can claim milestones. To make things even harder for Neftekhimik, Avangard’s top line is in excellent shape.

Lokomotiv hosts CSKA in Yaroslavl trying to get another win over the Muscovites this season, but today’s highlight game features an exciting matchup as Metallurg takes on Severstal, with a notable return to town by coach Andrei Razin, who enjoyed five successful years in Cherepovets. Metallurg is riding a two-game winning streak, while Severstal enters the game on the back of two consecutive losses. Keep an eye on former Severstal defenseman Robin Press, now with Magnitka, who is actively contributing to the scoring race. However, Severstal faces challenges with several injured players, which could impact their performance. It promises to be an intriguing contest between two teams with differing recent form and key players to watch – and naturally, Andrei Razin’s presence to take into account.
