Salavat Yulaev seeks revenge over Avto for start of season’s loss!
Today’s light KHL matchday starts in Ufa, with Salavat Yulaev hosting Avtomobilist as the teams face for the second time this year. On Sep 4, Anatoly Golyshev potted a double marking the Motormen’s nineteenth win in the clashes between the two Eastern sides. Golyshev is also Avto’s all-time leading scorer in KHL games against Ufa, with 14 (7+7) points in just seven games, showing exceptional inspiration against the Green Jerseys, while for Salavat Yulaev, the leader is still Alex Radulov. Even without Radulov, however, Salavat has good chances – not only does the team play at home, but they are also on a three-game winning streak, with Avtomobilist having lost its previous three.
Then, the action moves to the Western Conference. Dinamo Minsk isn’t in its best shape, and had a disappointing showing in its home opener, losing 1:4 to Lokomotiv on Monday for a five-game losing streak. However, Vityaz is doing even worse, with six straight defeats, and the previous showdown between the two sides ended with the Belarusians getting a record-breaking 7:0 win. Dinamo Minsk got the upper hand 26 times over Vityaz in the KHL history, against 21 wins for the Moscow Region side.
