Moscow Derby night as CSKA hosts Dynamo!
The KHL matchday starts in the Eastern Conference, with Sibir hosting Amur in Novisibirsk’s new arena. The Tigers are at their last game of their inaugural road trip and had a great showing against Avangard most recently. Moreover, leaders Alexander Khokhlachyov and Cameron Lee have active scoring streak that will want to stretch – perhaps Amur is the team to beat tonight. However, Sibir will want to please its home crowd and has Anton Krasotkin in fine shape, therefore unpredictability is again a key word for the game.
Another team who is ending a long road trip is HC Sochi. The Black Sea franchise had a strong game in Yaroslavl, when they finished off Loko with a sound, 5:0 victory and four points from Michal Kristof, but they face Severstal tonight, who has won the first showdown between the two sides earlier this season. However, HC Sochi may count on a nice bonus: the team has loaned back Matvei Michkov from SKA. The young talent had 20 (9+11) points in 27 games last year for the Black Sea team.
The KHL matchday will end with an always exciting Moscow Derby, with CSKA welcoming Dynamo at their home ice of the CSKA Arena. The White-and-Blues seem to be in better shape, and most recently they had a nice comeback win against Barys with a strong performance from the duo of Jordan Weal and Nikita Gusev. That said, CSKA didn’t have its best start, and will definitely want to rebound back. The two Moscow sides have already met in the preseason, with CSKA getting the upper hand with a 3:2 victory.
