Will CSKA tie things up in game four?

Preview
Severstal sensationally took the lead in game three with a 5:3 home win and tonight CSKA will seek revenge. However, it won’t be easy for the Gagarin Cup champion to achieve a victory, as the Andrei Razin’s men will be determined and eager to please the home crowd once again.

The temperature won’t be any lower in other arenas, with Avangard trying to get a third win in Novosibirsk, Torpedo seeking to tie things up after losing to Dynamo Moscow, and Metallurg and Avtomobilist disputing another close game after two consecutive double-OT contests.

13:30: Sibir vs Avangard

Series stand
Avangard is leading the series 2-1 (2:1 OT, 1:4, 3:4).

About the game
Avangard demonstrated its prowess in powerplay during game three, scoring three goals while on the man-advantage and taking only 12 shots in the game. Sibir dominated most of the game but was unable to capitalize on their opportunities and give Vasily Demchenko a real challenge until the third period. However, it was too late, and the Hawks were able to celebrate their second win of the series. Tonight, Sibir will need to show greater finishing ability if they hope to remain in contention for advancing past the first round.

Sibir’s forward Alexander Sharov is on a three-game scoring streak, with 3 (2+1) points over that span.

Injury list
Avangard: Stanislav Galimov.
Milestone alert

Sibir’s goalie Denis Kostin may reach 100 KHL games tonight.

Avangard’s defenseman Ziyat Paigin may score his 100th point in the KHL (currently at 99).

14:30: Metallurg vs Avtomobilist

About the game
It was a double-OT night again in Magnitogorsk, with sneaky forward Denis Zernov finding the back of the net with a game-winner at the 91st minute – seven minutes later than Yegor Yakovlev’s coup in game two. Maybe tonight Avtomobilist will want to end things up in regulation, as Magnitka so far had the upper hand in OT situations.

Avtomobilist’s defenseman Nick Ebert is on a four-game scoring streak, with 4 (2+2) points over that span.

Avtomobilist’s forward Curtis Valk is on a three-game scoring streak, with 4 (1+3) points.

However, Daniil Vovchenko had other plans for the night and fully played the local hero card, netting a double for a night to remember.

Severstal’s defenseman Robin Press is on a four-game scoring streak, with 4 (1+3) points over that span.
