Best Players of the 2022-2023 nineteenth week

The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s nineteenth week in four categories.

Last week, the League’s teams played 29 games, with 541 players (40 goalies, 186 defensemen, and 315 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 4.83 goals per game.

- Best goalie for the first time in his career was Sergei Mylnikov (Traktor) who won two games from two last week. Mylnikov faced 65 shots, or 32.5 per night, posting a saves percentage of 97.06% and a goals-against average of 1.00. The Traktor’s netminder recorded his first career shutout in his team’s 1:0 win over Lokomotiv.

- Best defenseman for the second time in his career was Nikita Nesterov (CSKA), who scored 4 (2+2) points in three games last week. Nesterov also recorded two hits, blocked one shot, and had four takeaways. Nesterov was awarded the Best defenseman also in 2017-2018 ninth week.

- Best forward for the first time in his career was Sergei Popov (HC Sochi), who scored 4 (2+2) points in three games last week. Popov scored points in each game of the week, and when HC Sochi defeated Metallurg, halting a 21-game losing streak, he scored 2 (1+1) points and netted the game-winner. He also recorded four hits, blocked one shot, and had two takeaways.

- Best rookie for the second time in his career was forward Daniil Gutik (Admiral), who scored 2 (0+2) points in three games last week. Gutik netted the game-winning shootout in Admiral’s 2:1 SO win over Metallurg, and recorded one hit, blocked one shot, and had four takeaways. Gutik was already awarded the Best rookie in 2021-2022 seventeenth week.
