Far East derby part II

Preview
The two Far East sides have already met this season, on Monday, and today they go for the rematch. Earlier in the week, Ivan Nikolishin’s 12th tally of the season and 37 saves by Alikin (who established a club’s record surpassing Juha Metsola), before Amur sealed the deal with a late third-period, empty net goal, gave the Tigers a much-needed win to return in the East’s top eight. The Sailors are still the fourth team in the Eastern Conference, and they will want to halt their recent skid of two losses.

In the evening, another rematch is on tap, with CSKA hosting Torpedo. Igor Larionov’s young guns are having a tremendous season, but lost their previous couple of matches. CSKA and Torpedo met recently, on Nov 24, with the Red-and-Blues netting four unanswered goals and Alexander Sharychenkov recording his first, and so far only, shutout of the season. That first clash was held in Nizhny Novgorod, while tonight the two sides meet in Moscow.
