The Sochi Hockey Open is one of the most highly-anticipated events of KHL preseason. Several of the traditionally toughest teams in the league—including reigning champions Avangard Omsk—descend on the shores of the Black Sea to flex their new acquisitions, line combinations and much more. This week, we caught up with two competitors from East and West squads who will take the resort city by storm. Traktor Chelyabinsk defenseman Lawrence Pilut and SKA Saint Petersburg forward Ivan Morozov brief us on their preseason preparations, expectations ahead of the tournament and a little personal color from their respective training camps in Chelyabinsk and Novogorsk.
