Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod 1 Dynamo Moscow 3 (0-1, 0-1, 1-1, 0-0)
The game was played in four periods of 15 minutes
The first two periods saw Alexei Murygin in the Torpedo net, making his return to hockey after a two-year battle against serious injury. Murygin allowed two goals, beaten on both occasions by Alexander Petunin on a new-look Dynamo top line with Stas Galiyev and Vadim Shipachyov. Summer signing Galiyev assisted on the second goal, while another newcomer, Slava Voynov, had the helper on the opener.
In the third stanza Roman Krikunenko pulled a goal back as he looks to impress on a try-out contract in Nizhny Novgorod. However, the final word went to another Dynamo newcomer when Eric O’Dell made it 3-1 in the 36th minute.
