Four regular season games involving Jokerit will be postponed to a later date. The games against Severstal (Sep. 15), Metallurg (Sep. 17), Vityaz (Sep. 19) and CSKA (Sep. 21) cannot go ahead as scheduled.
The Finnish health authorities ruled that the team’s players all formed part of the group that risked infection after playing against Neftekhimik on Sep. 9. After that game, seven representatives of Neftekhimik returned a positive result from an express test for SARS-CoV-2 on arrival in Latvia.
According to Finnish regulations, Jokerit must now spend two weeks in quarantine, making it impossible to stage the four upcoming games.
Earlier, the KHL postponed two games scheduled for Friday, Sep. 11. New dates for Dinamo Riga vs Neftekhimik and Jokerit vs Ak Bars will be announced when they have been agreed with the clubs concerned.
