The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best player of the fourth month of the Regular Season – December – in four categories.

- Best goalie was Jakub Kovar (Avtomobilist), who won seven of nine games, including two shutouts, and suffering one SO loss. The Ural franchise’s netminder stopped the 93.81% of the 291 shots he faced, with an average of 32,3 per game (top numbers of the month).

- Best defenseman was Mikko Lehtonen (Jokerit), who won seven of nine games with his team, scoring 10 (3+7) points. The Finn blueliner posted no negative ratings, ending December being plus-10. Lehtonen had 36 shots on goal (best result of the month among defensemen), with an average time on ice of 23 minutes and 37 seconds – once again, the top numbers among all blueliners. The Jokerit defenseman is the best in his role for the second month in a row.

- Best forward was Roman Starchenko (Barys), who won seven of eleven games with his team, scoring eight goals (best figure of the month). The veteran forward scored in six matches, posting doubles against HC Sochi and Avtomobilist, where his goals brought the victory for Barys. He also had the game-winning goal against Dinamo Minsk. Starchenko also had three helpers, a plus-6 rating, 27 shots on goal, and blocked six shots from the opposition.

- Best rookie was defenseman Akim Trishin (Spartak), who won six games of nine with his team, scoring one goal and one assist with a plus-1 rating. In the Dec. 20 game against HC Sochi, Trishin scored his first goal at the KHL level. The 20-years-old blueliner had an average time on ice of 9 minutes and 31 seconds.
