The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the ninth week of the Regular Season (including November 5-6 games) in four categories.
- best goalie was Vasily Koshechkin (Metallurg), who won three games of three last week, including one shutout win. The Magnitogorsk goalie had a saves percentage of 96,74 with a goals-against average of 1,01.
- best defenseman was Darren Dietz (Barys), who won three of four games last week with his team, including three away games. Dietz had 5 (2+3) points (best result of the week among defensemen), scoring a double against Traktor. The Canadian defenseman posted no negative ratings, ended the week being plus-3, had 20 shots on goal and recorded six hits.
- best forward was Denis Parshin (Torpedo), who won two of three games with his team, scoring 6 (4+2) points being plus-2. The veteran forward had doubles against Severstal and Salavat Yulaev (with one game-winning goal). Parshin scored points in all last week’s games, had 12 shots on goal, and blocked three shots from the opposition.
- best rookie was defenseman Maxim Afanasyev (Lokomotiv), who had an assist against HC Sochi. The 20-year-old blueliner posted no negative ratings, finishing the week being plus-1. He had an average ice time of 17 minutes and 26 seconds, had four shots on goal and blocked two shots from the opposition.
