The fifth regular-season week featured plenty of spectacular moments. is proud to present you its weekly ranking.

Top 10 goals

We begin our countdown of the best ten goals of the fifth regular-season week with a beautiful pass by Konstantin Okulov to Pavel Karnaukhov to sink his ex-team in the Friday’s game in Novosibirsk. Next off is Kirill Voronin with a blistering breakaway against Metallurg Magnitogorsk and young goalie Artyom Zagidulin. Sibir Novosibirsk’s forward Danil Romantsev will longly remember the home game against Dinamo Riga, where he scored his first KHL hat-trick. The 3-0 goal was particularly memorable and worthy of the seventh place.

The first goal to reach the top-five is a great combination by Kunlun Red Star forwards Taylor Beck and Cory Kane as the first got the defense on himself to serve the latter a huge pass in the slot for an easy goal on Avtomobilist’s Jan Kovar. Avtomobilist fans, however, don’t need to be sad as the fourth place is taken by a sweet powerplay combination from the Dawes-Pare dynamic duo. Avangard Omsk had a great start of the season, and a fine goal by Ilya Mikheyev put the Hartley-led team on the third place in this week’s standings. After a huge solo effort, another incredible combination for the silver medal as Sergei Mozyakin sends a millimeter-level precision pass to Wojtek Wolski in the Sunday’s win in Khabarovsk. The recent Avangard – CSKA game was a pleasure to watch, and one of the reasons was the fantastic goal by Red Army young leader Kirill Kaprizov, who elegantly beat Igor Bobkov from close range after a sublime pass by Lindon Vey.

Top 10 saves

Metallurg’s leader Sergei Mozyakin is always a treat with the man advantage, but Libor Kasik outdid himself with a save worthy of the top ten. Traktor’s netminder Alexander Sudnitsin was on fire in the game against Kunlun, and probably we could have included even more saves in our top ten, but he still got featured three times, in the ninth, seventh, and third place. The best save was a tremendous blocker save on Patrik Lundh.

The top five is opened by Spartak’s goalie Julius Hudacek with a fine save on a dangerous, close-range shot by Vityaz’s Croatian star Borna Rendulic. Next is CSKA’s Ilya Sorokin with a phenomenal save on Sergei Shirokov on a breakaway. We get back to the Spartak – Vityaz game for the silver medal, as Joni Ortio, reads perfectly Robin Hanzl’s moves to slide down and separate him from the puck with a perfectly-timed stick check. But the absolute best of the week is Ilya Ezhov with a fantastic save on Patrik Zackrisson after losing the stick following the first shot attempt by Dynamo Moscow’s attack. A true masterpiece!
