On July 5 the calendar of the 11th Kontinental Hockey Season will be presented.
The new season’s calendar will be presented by the KHL vice president for hockey operation Georgi Kobylyansky, other than by the calendar’s developers. The 2018/2019 regular season, with 25 teams, will start, as already announced, on September 1 with the game between Ak Bars and CSKA Moscow and will end on February 22. Each team will play a total of 62 games.
“We started working on the new season’s calendar earlier this spring, and we planned to publish it by June 15. However, for several objective results, connected both with the needs of the teams and with the changed international schedule, we failed to meet this deadline. Every year we try to take into account the experience from the previous years to make the calendar balanced and comfortable for both teams and fans.”
