In the 45th minute of Wednesday's match in Astana between Barys and Ak Bars, home team goaltender Henrik Karlsson was given a game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for abusive and unsporting behavior by a player toward a match official.
After reviewing the episode, the KHL Disciplinary Committee ruled that the Swedish goalie must pay a fine and serve a two-game suspension. However, as this was the player's second 20-minute penalty of the current season, he incurs a separate fine and an automatic one-match disqualification for repeat offending.
Henrik Karlsson is therefore disqualified for three games in total.
