The mid-season break for the Eurotour will be slightly longer for Vityaz defenseman Mikhail Yepishin after the youngster received a suspension from the KHL Disciplinary Committee.

The Committee was asked to review a collision by the boards involving Yepishin and Dinamo Riga forward Nikita Jevpalovs, in the 59th minute of Monday's match in the Latvian capital. The match officials saw nothing illegal in the incident, which left the Dinamo player requiring treatment, but after studying the evidence the Committee judged the Vityaz man guilty of injuring an opponent by boarding. As a result, Mikhail Yepishin receives a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes), a fine, and a one-game disqualification, thereby ruling him out of Tuesday's home game against Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
