In the 23rd minute of Tuesday’s match in Cherepovets between Severstal and Jokerit Helsinki, home team forward Ruslan Karlin was given a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for injuring an opponent by checking to the head and neck area.
After reviewing the incident, the KHL Disciplinary Committee upheld the referee's decision, and ruled that must pay a fine and serve a two-game suspension.
