To mark the end of the thirteenth week’s play of the tenth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender, for the second time this season, was Emil Garipov (Ak Bars), who made three appearances, including one on the road, and helped the Kazan Men claim two shutout victories. The 26-year-old Russian goalie recorded a save percentage of 96.00 and a goals against average of 0.97, while his shutout series now stands at 125 minutes 42 seconds;
– Best defenseman was Krisjanis Redlihs (Dinamo Riga), who also celebrated two victories from three outings, two of which were on the road. The 36-year-old Latvian's account for the week showed 3 (1+2) points (his goal, against Avtomobilist, was the game-winner), 4 hits, 4 blocks, no negative ratings and a +1 for the week;
– Best forward was Zach Boychuk (Slovan), with a haul of 5 (4+1) points in just two appearances. The 28-year-old Canadian celebrated a double in each outing for the Boys from Bratislava (the victims were Amur and Vityaz) and, unsurprisingly, he received no negative ratings, earning a +2 overall;
– Best rookie was 20-year-old Avangard defenseman Maxim Mineyev, who featured in three games and finished the week with 3 shots, one goal (on the road against Dinamo Minsk), 2 blocks, no negative ratings, and an average ice time of 15 minutes and 30 seconds.
