Frattin banned for 2 games
In the 59th minute of Monday's match in Novosibirsk between Sibir and Barys Astana, visiting forward Matthew Frattin was given a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for spearing.
The KHL Disciplinary Committee has reviewed the episode and supports the referee's decision, The penalty therefore remains in force, and Frattin must pay a fine. However, this was the second occasion this season that the player has earned a major plus game misconduct penalty, and according to the Regulations regarding re-offending, Matthew Frattin must pay a separate fine and serve a two-game suspension.
