The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated an episode from the Wednesday's match in Saint Petersburg between SKA and Slovan Bratislava, namely the 12th-minute collision by the boards involving home forward Nikita Gusev and visiting defenseman Lukas Kozak. The match officials saw nothing amiss in the challenge, but after scrutinizing the evidence, the Committee has imposed on the Slovan player a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for injuring an opponent by checking to the head and neck area.
As a result, Lukas Kozak has been fined and suspended for three games.
The Disciplinary Committee also reviewed an incident from Wednesday's Dinamo Minsk versus Jokerit match.
In the 11th minute, Minsk forward Justin Fontain earned a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for slashing. After studying this episode, the Committee supported the referee's decision, has fined Justin Fontain, and disqualified him for one game.
