Kunlun Red Star has signed 24-year-old Canadian goaltender Jordan Liem on a three-year deal and given a two-year contract to 25-year-old Canadian defenseman Brayden Jaw.
Much-traveled forward Alexander Rybakov has returned to Traktor after spending the 2016-17 season with Dynamo Moscow. The 32-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the Chelyabinsk club.
Dynamo Moscow has agreed new, two-year contracts with goaltender Alexander Yeryomenko, 37, defenseman Ilya Nikulin, 35, and his fellow defenseman Dmitry Vishnevsky, 27, and a one-year contract with 32-year-old forward Mikhail Varnakov, all of whom were among the players granted free agent status in early July by the KHL Disciplinary Committee. Dynamo also sealed a two-year deal with Canadian forward Dustin Boyd, 31, who previously played for the Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators and Montreal Canadiens before spending six seasons with Barys Astana.
Two experienced forwards have been offered tryout contracts: Admiral has enlisted 32-year-old Konstantin Romanov, formerly of Barys, while Lada has brought in Sergei Soin, 35, who who won two Gagarin Cups with Dynamo Moscow before moving to Salavat Yulaev. Lada has also paid a transfer fee to Lokomotiv for 20-year-old goaltender Anton Krasotkin.
Torpedo has signed ex-Spartak defenseman Viktor Baldayev on a one-year contract.
HC Sochi has agreed a two-year deal with defenseman Artyom Maltsev, The 19-year-old's resume shows two seasons in the QMJHL, with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens (2015-16) and the Rimouski Océanic (2016-17). The men from the Black Sea coast have also given a two-year contract to 22-year-old ex-Dynamo Moscow forward Dmitry Boichuk.
Amur has offered a tryout contract to 26-year-old forward Alexander Fedoseyev, formerly of Severstal, Vityaz, CSKA, and last season, the Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL.
Dinamo Riga has recruited American defenseman William Wrenn on a one-year-deal. The 26-year-old spent the 2016-17 season in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies.
Two-time world champion Nikolai Zherdev has joined Neftekhimik on a tryout contract. The 34-year-old forward's former clubs include the NHL's Blue Jackets, Rangers and Flyers, plus the KHL's Atlant, Ak Bars, Dynamo, Spartak, Severstal, HC Sochi and Torpedo.
American forward Jeremy Morin, formerly of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Columbus Blue Jackets, has signed up for one year at Ugra. Joining him in Khanty-Mansiysk is 26-year-old Slovak defenseman Martin Stajnoch, formerly of Slovan Bratislava.
SKA and Spartak agreed a player exchange which sees 23-year-old forward Viktor Komarov move to Moscow while 19-year-old goaltender Nikita Lysenkov relocates to Petersburg.
