In the 31st minute of Saturday’s match in Moscow between CSKA and Spartak, CSKA defenseman Artyom Sergeyev (№93) received a major penalty (5 minutes) for fisticuffs after brawling with Spartak forward Denis Tolpeko. This was not the first time this season that the player had earned a 5-minute penalty for fighting, and as a repeat offender, Sergeyev incurs a fine and an automatic one-game suspension, which rules him out of the Army Men’s playoff opener against Jokerit on Tuesday.
