Folowing a year in the NHL with Chicago and Arizona, Viktor Tikhonov is returning to SKA Saint Petersburg. The 28-year-old forward, gold medalist and top scorer at the 2014 World Championships, spent four seasons in Russia's northern capital but left for North America in 2015 after helping the Petersburg Army Men to their first ever Gagarin Cup triumph. He has signed a one-year contract with his former employers.
The latest new recruit at Kunlun Red Star is Chinese-Canadian defenseman Zach Yuen, who attracted considerable media interest while playing for the Idaho Steelheads in the East Coast Hockey League. The 23-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Beijing men.
