Bans for Booth and Pestunov
At the request of the League’s Refereeing Department, the Disciplinary Committee investigated an episode from the 56th minute of the Admiral vs. Traktor game in Vladivostok. After reviewing the evidence, the Committee noted two instances of serious foul play within seconds of each other. First David Booth (Admiral) attacked Dmitry Pestunov (Traktor) then Pestunov injured Vladivostok forward Alexei Ugarov pushing him at the goal.
As a result, forwards Booth and Pestunov have each been handed a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and a suspension. Booth was found guilty of checking to the head and neck area, for which he receives a one-game ban. Pestunov, who was punished for checking a player not in possession of the puck, earns an identical punishment, but receives an additional mandatory one-game suspension for picking up his second 20-minute penalty of the season. Dmitry Pestunov is therefore banned for two games.
