Mironov, Glumac banned for 1 game
Two players faced an enforced absence from the ice following incidents in Monday’s games in the Championship.
In the 39th minute of the game in Nizhny Novgorod between Torpedo and Dynamo Moscow, visiting defenseman Andrei Mironov launched a challenge on home forward Linus Videll which left the latter needing treatment. The officials saw nothing illegal in the hit, but after close scrutiny of the evidence, the KHL Disciplinary Committee has found Mironov guilty of injuring an opponent by clipping, for which he receives a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and a one-game suspension.
Meanwhile, in Zagreb, Medvescak forward Mike Glumac earned a 5-minute penalty for fisticuffs for his part in the brawl that broke out in the 5th minute of his team’s home game against CSKA. As Glumac has received a major penalty for an identical violation earlier in the season, he incurs an automatic one-game suspension for repeat offending.
