Players of the Week 8: Brust, Lepisto, Mozyakin and Pilipenko
– Best goaltender was Barry Brust (Slovan), with two shutout wins in two outings;
– Best defenseman was Sami Lepisto (Salavat Yulaev), who helped his team to three victories in three games, ending the week with 4 points (2+2) and a +6;
– Best forward was September’s finest attacker, Sergei Mozyakin (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), with 9 points (5+4) from four appearances. Sergei celebrated a double in each of his previous two outings;
– Best rookie was 19-year-old Dynamo Moscow forward Kirill Pilipenko, who enjoyed his first two outings in the KHL, finishing the week with two goals and an average ice time of 10 minutes 35 seconds.
