Following a request from the Refereeing Department, the KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated an episode from the 59th minute of Friday’s game in Magnitogorsk between Metallurg and Salavat Yulaev Ufa. The incident in question involved a tussle between two forwards, Metallurg’s Jan Kovar and Salavat Yulaev’s Sergei Soin, and after reviewing the evidence, the Committee found the Magnitogorsk player guilty of slashing with intent to injure an opponent. As a result, Jan Kovar receives a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and a one-game suspension.
