To mark the end of the seventh week’s play of the eighth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.

Best goaltender was
Edgars Masalskis (Lada), who helped the Togliatti men claim two wins and a shoot-out defeat in three games. Masalskis also recorded one shutout and enjoyed the longest unbeaten spell of any KHL goalie during the past week;

Best defenseman was
Geoffrey Kinrade (Medvescak), with 3 points (1+2) and a +5 from three outings. Kinrade also blocked 8 shots from the opposition and averaged 27 minutes 4 seconds on the ice;

Best forward was
Brandon Bochenski (Barys), who made three appearances and finished the week with 5 points (2+3) from 10 shots at goal, a +3, and an average ice time of 19 minutes 14 seconds;

Best rookie was 20-year-old Metallurg Novokuznetsk goalie
Vladislav Podyapolsky, who in two games on the road recorded a goals against average of 1.64 and a save percentage of 94.92. Podyapolsky celebrated his first KHL victory with the surprise win over Avangard.
