Czech Men of Steel Sunk by Torpedo
Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod has emerged victorious in the final of the Steel Cup tournament against HC Kosice in Trinec, Czech Republic, after fighting back from a 1-3 deficit to seal a 4-3 triumph via the shootout. Carl Klingberg, Evgeny Mozer and Vadim Khomitsky were on target for Peteris Skudra’s team in regulation before Vladimir Galuzin’s successful shot in the shootout clinched a thrilling 4-3 victory.
Previously in the tournament, Torpedo had defeated two of Kosice’s fellow Czech teams in regulation time, winning 5-2 against Vítkovice Steel of Ostrava and 4-3 versus the hosts, Ocelari (“Steelworkers”) of Trinec.
