Players of the Week 17
To mark the end of the seventeenth week’s play of the seventh season of the Championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Alexei Murygin (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), for helping the reigning champions to a shutout victory over Lada Togliatti;
– Best defenseman was Maxim Ignatovich (Sibir), who scored two goals and earned a +3 in his sole performance of the week;
– Best forward was Niko Kapanen (Jokerit), who added 4 points (1+3) to his account in just one outing;
– Best rookie was 19-year-old Novokuznetsk defenseman Nikita Kamalov, who scored his team’s only goal in the game against Admiral.
