In the 12th minute of Saturday’s game in Moscow between Dynamo and CSKA, home forward Alexei Tereshchenko was left nursing a leg injury following a collision with Red Army forward Evgeny Artyukhin. The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied the incident and ruled that Artyukhin caused the injury with illegal use of the knee. Artyukhin has therefore been handed a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for injuring an opponent by kneeing, and has been suspended for one game.
As the player had already earned a game misconduct this season, in the November game against Severstal, he receives an additional one-game ban for repeat offending. Evgeny Artyukhin is therefore suspended for 2 games.
