The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied the episode from the closing seconds of Wednesday’s Severstal vs. CSKA game in Cherepovets, in which the Muscovites’ forward, Evgeny Artyukhin, received a minor plus game misconduct penalty (2+20 minutes) after intervening in a fight between Jan Mursak and Nikolai Stasenko. The Committee decided that the game misconduct shall remain in place, but upgraded the minor penalty to a major (5 minutes) for being the aggressor in a brawl, and added an additional one-game suspension, noting that it is the first time Artyukhin has earned a disqualification in the Championship.
