Players of the Week 1

To mark the end of the first week’s play of the seventh season of the Championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories. 

– Best goaltender of the week was Ivan Kasutin (Torpedo), who played in two games, recording one shutout and a save percentage of 96.08; 

– Best defenseman was Anton Belov (SKA), with two goals in two outings and a +2; 

– Best forward was Jonathan Cheechoo (Dinamo Minsk), whose account for the new season shows 7 points (4+3) from two games; 

– Best rookie was Metallurg Magnitogorsk’s 20-year-old defenseman, Alexei Bereglazov, who finished the week with a +1.
