Day of Remembrance in honor of Lokomotiv
Today is the third anniversary of the tragic plane crash near Yaroslavl airport which claimed the lives of forty-four people. Among those who perished were the players, coaches and staff of HC Lokomotiv, on its way to Minsk to play the first game of the new season. Since that day, as a mark of respect to those no longer with us, no games are played in the Kontinental Hockey League on September 7th. This is not a day for thoughts of appearances, goals, wins or losses, but a day for mourning and remembrance. And the names of those who boarded flight AKY 9633 will never fade from our memories.
