KHL Hockey Operations Vice-President Vladimir Shalaev is to leave his job as an executive director and has accepted an offer from Avangard Omsk Region to be club president.

Mr. Shalaev, who has supervised all the KHL’s sporting activity since the League was founded in 2008, will not be severing all ties with the KHL – he will take up a new post as an advisor to the president on hockey operations.

Mr. Shalaev's replacement on the Executive Board is Dmitry Kurbatov, who was Vladimir Shalaev’s chief deputy for the past six seasons and was also the KHL Sports Events Organization Director.
