Players of the Week 21: Koshechkin, Hietanen, Plotnikov & Shestyorkin
To mark the end of the final week’s play in the KHL Championship regular season, the League has rewarded the best players of the week in four categories:
– Best goaltender was Vasily Koshechkin (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), with two shutouts in his three games, a goals against average of 0.65 and a save percentage of 98.1;
– Best defenseman was Juuso Hietanen (Torpedo), with four points (2+2) in four appearances;
– Best forward was Sergei Plotnikov (Lokomotiv), with a haul of 8 points (3+5) from his four outings;
– Best rookie was 18-year-old Spartak goalie Igor Shestyorkin, who played in four games, recording one shutout, a GAA of 1.72 and a SV% of 94.44.
