The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied two episodes from Thursday’s games in the Championship.

Vityaz defenseman Branislav Mezei received a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) in the 56th minute of the game at home to Torpedo for checking to the head and neck area, after a challenge on Nizhny Novgorod forward Denis Parshin. The Committee upholds the decision and has banned Mezei for two games.

In the 38th minute of the game in Ufa between Salavat Yulaev and Avangard, home team forward Anton Babchuk used the blade of his stick to strike Omsk forward Sergei Shirokov. After reviewing the incident, the Committee has imposed a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) on Babchuk for spearing, but decided the foul did not merit an additional ban.
