The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied two incidents from Tuesday’s game in Nizhnekamsk between Neftekhimik and Avtomobilist.
In the first period, Neftekhimik forward Denis Tolpeko was in a tussle with Avtomobilist defenseman Tobias Viklund, during which Tolpeko aimed a blow at the Yekaterinburg man’s head. The Committee has handed Tolpeko a minor plus misconduct penalty (2+10 minutes) for checking to the head or neck area.
In the second period, Nizhnekamsk forward Petr Koukal was injured as a result of being struck by Viklund with the blade of the stick. The Disciplinary Committee has punished Viklund with a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for inuring an opponent by spearing, plus an additional ban of one game.
