The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated SKA Saint Petersburg defenseman Maxim Chudinov’s hit on Lev forward Jiri Novotny in the final minute of overtime in Monday night’s game in Prague. After studying the challenge, the Committee has imposed a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) on Chudinov for checking to the head or neck area, and has banned the player for one game.

Earlier, during the third period of regulation time, Petersburg forward Andrei Sigaryov used his stick to strike Lev forward Justin Azevedo. The Committee found Sigaryov guilty of use of the stick with intent to injure an opponent, for which he receives a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) but no additional disqualification.
