Plotnikov shoots down Severstal
Sergei Plotnikov got the game-winner for Lokomotiv in a 2-1 win at Severstal. The young forward struck just after midway, picking out Sergei Konkov with a pass from behind the goal then reacting first to tap the puck into an empty net after his team-mate’s shot was blocked.
That was enough to clinch victory in a tight battle. Loko had taken a first-period lead when Vadim Khlopotov converted an Igor Musatov pass, but Severstal tied it up within four minutes thanks to Vadim Berdnikov’s drive from the blue line.
