Players of the Week 9: Glass, Lepisto, Zaripov, Grebenshchikov
To mark the end of the ninth week’s play of the sixth season of the KHL Championship, the League has rewarded the best players of the week in four categories:
– Best goaltender of the week was Jeff Glass (Spartak), for keeping the opposition off the scoreboard in two games;
– Best defenseman was Sami Lepisto (Avtomobilist), who took 4 points (1+3) from four games and merited a +3 for the week;
– Best forward for the third time in four weeks was Danis Zaripov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk). Last week he added another 8 points (5+3) to his tally in just three outings;
– Best rookie was 21-year-old defenseman Vladimir Grebenshchikov (Barys), who made three appearances, finishing the week with four points (1+3) and a +4.
