Igor moved on from Moscow to join Atlant over the summer, and on his return to his old stamping ground he got the game-winner in a 4-1 win. It came in the 16th minute as he stole the puck from Andrei Pervyshin on the goal-line and instantly lifted the puck over Rastislav Stana’s shoulder. Nikolai Prokhorkin pulled one goal back for CSKA early in the second, but that effort was soon eclipsed by Mikhail Glukhov at the start of the final session.
Glukhov and Prokhorkin also dominated the last seconds, trading blows after the Atlant man caught his young opponent with a high check. Glukhov received 5+5+20, Prokhorkin took a major penalty of his own for the fight.
Late drama in Minsk
Veteran forward Alexei Kalyuzhny tied Dinamo at 2-2 with just 73 seconds left to play in its home game with Amur. It was the second time Dinamo leveled the scores - and the second time Tomas Surovy claimed an assist - and it proved to be the turning point as the Belarusians went on to win in a shoot-out. Zbynek Irgl got the decisive goal.
