To mark the end of the seventh week’s play of the championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender of the week was Sergei Gaiduchenko (Sibir), who won two games out of three during the week, saving 94.9% of shots and allowing an average of 1.64 goals per game;
– Best defenseman was Anton Belov (Avangard), who in three games scored two goals, added one assist and earned a +4;
– Best attacker was Igor Skorokhodov (Yugra), who scored four goals in four outings, despite averaging only 10 minutes and 17 seconds on the ice.
– Best rookie was young defenseman Nikita Nesterov (Traktor), who made three appearances and merited a +3 for the week, with an average ice time of 16 minutes and 52 seconds.
