Atlant Moscow Region joined Lev Prague on 20 points at the top of the Western Conference with a shoot-out win at Vityaz Chekhov. The visitors recovered a 2-4 deficit with two goals in 62 seconds of the third period, Mikhail Glukhov and Maxim Mayorov finding the target. The decisive penalty shot was converted by former Vityaz man Nikita Tochitsky, who had scored Atlant’s first of the game early in the second period.
Kronwall sinks former colleagues
Ex-Severstal star Staffan Kronwall enjoyed a winning return to Cherepovets as he got the only goal in Lokomotiv’s success. Kronwall struck on 5:51; Vitaly Kolesnik made 37 saves to claim the shut-out and seal the win.
Spartak fights back in vain
Spartak Moscow clawed back a 2-4 deficit, but could not sneak a win at Dinamo Riga. The Latvians seemed to be in complete control in the early stages, and held a two-goal cushion at the halfway mark. But Oleg Petrov and Stefan Ruzicka’s second of the game tied it at 4-4 before Guntis Galvins got Dinamo’s winner on 53:55.
