To mark the end of the second stage of the play-offs for the Gagarin Cup, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the Conference semi-finals in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Jakub Stepanek of SKA Saint Petersburg. His account from his six games against Atlant shows four wins, including two shutouts. Jakub allowed an average of 0.99 goals per game and saved 95.3% of shots.
– Best defenseman was Dynamo Moscow’s Dominik Granak. In the six games of the series against Torpedo he scored two goals, provided two assists and merited a rating of +2.
– Best attacker was Roman Cervenka of Avangard. In five games he scored five goals and supplied the passes for three more, earning a rating for the round of +4;
– Of all the players competing in the semi-final series, only two were eligible to be considered for the best rookie award: Ak Bars forward Denis Golubev and Metallurg Magnitogorsk forward Yaroslav Kosov. Of the two, Golubev had the better figures, spending an average of 13 minutes and 6 seconds on the ice in five outings and totaling seven shots at goal.
